Experience a guided Melukat Ceremony, the sacred Balinese Water Purification Ceremony, at Mengening Temple. Cleanse your body, mind, and spirit in the temple’s holy spring water, guided by an expert who will lead you through each ritual with deep cultural insight.

Mengening Temple takes its name from the Balinese word "Ening," meaning tranquil, silent, or quiet. True to its name, this sacred site is known for its peaceful atmosphere and pure, flowing spring water. The temple is believed to hold strong spiritual energy, making it a powerful place for the Melukat Ceremony, where people come to purify their body, mind, and soul in the crystal-clear waters.

This experience is limited to the Melukat Ceremony only. It does not include other spiritual practices you may expect, such as palm reading, healing consultations, or sessions with a shaman. Other spiritual experiences as such are not available on site.

This experience takes place at Mengening Temple and is carried out in English. The full program, including the temple tour, normally lasts around 60 minutes from start to finish. Please note that Mengening Temple is considered a small temple. We are not certain whether the short temple visit and looking around during your Melukat Ceremony can be regarded as a full temple tour.

Travelers undergoing menstruation are strictly not allowed to enter the temple or participate in the Melukat Ceremony. If you menstruate after making a booking, you can request a refund or reschedule.

Kindly check your regular menstruation cycle. Rescheduling is free, and our Refund Policy for this specific experience is strict and time-based as follows:

  • 50% refund if cancelled between 1 and 23 hours before the pick-up time.

Kindly note that priests are not required to complete the Melukat Ceremony. A special request to perform the Melukat Ceremony with a priest is available at Mengening Temple. Please contact us on WhatsApp before booking if you would like to make this special request.

This experience is private, with one guide dedicated exclusively to your group. However, the temple itself remains open to other visitors and is not reserved privately for your use.

Please bring a change of underwear to wear afterward, as well as a towel to dry yourself.
