Experience a guided Melukat Ceremony, the sacred Balinese Water Purification Ceremony, at Tirta Empul Temple. Cleanse your body, mind, and spirit in the temple’s holy spring water, guided by an expert who will lead you through each ritual with deep cultural insight.

According to legend, the sacred spring at Tirta Empul Temple was created by the god Indra. When his soldiers were poisoned by the evil king Mayadanawa, Indra struck the earth with his spear, and a magical spring burst forth to heal them. This holy water is believed to hold purifying powers, and it’s the very source used in the Melukat Ceremony to cleanse the body, mind, and spirit.

This experience is limited to the Melukat Ceremony only. It does not include other spiritual practices you may expect, such as palm reading, healing consultations, or sessions with a shaman. Other spiritual experiences as such are not available on site.

This experience takes place at Tirta Empul Temple and is carried out in English. The full program, including the temple tour, normally lasts around 90 to 120 minutes from start to finish.
