Bali Tourist Levy

The Bali Tourist Levy is a relatively new regulation. Every tourist entering Bali is obliged to pay a levy of IDR 150,000 (as per our latest check in August 2025, but this may be subject to change).

On social media, especially in Facebook travel groups, you may find discussions where people claim they entered Bali without paying and were never checked. While this may happen, skipping the levy is not recommended. The regulation is official, and checks may now take place at tourist destinations. If you are asked to show proof of payment and fail to do so, you could run into problems.

Travelers should also be careful about opportunists creating unofficial websites that pretend to collect the levy. The only official website is lovebali.baliprov.go.id. Any other site risks being a scam, and there is also no reason to use agencies — they simply charge extra to do the exact same process.

One of the main issues travelers face is payment failures. As with any online system, card payments sometimes do not go through. To help with this, Bali LLC — through PT Bali Mundi International, under Indonesian jurisdiction and recommended by the Bali government to support this system — offers free assistance if you face problems completing the payment.
