Bali Visa Guide

Preparing your visa before arriving in Bali is one of the most important steps to make your trip stress-free. Always apply directly through the official government website at evisa.imigrasi.go.id. Never use an agency, because you will submit the exact same documents yourself and simply pay extra fees to a middleman. For best results, always use a desktop computer when applying, as the mobile version often causes issues.

The current process for tourists is straightforward. Click Apply, select your country, choose the main purpose General, Family, or Social, then select Tourism, Family Visit, and Transit. If your stay is less than 30 days, select visa type B1. For more than 30 days but less than 60, select C1. Make sure to read the terms and conditions carefully, and double-check every step before you proceed. Keep in mind that the process may change from time to time, as the Indonesian Immigration office updates their website regularly. If you are unsure, feel free to consult with Bali LLC — we will gladly help you for free.

When uploading your passport and photo, follow the rules strictly. Even small mistakes can lead to rejection. Many travelers run into problems when submitting photos taken with iPhones, because the default format is HEIC, which is not accepted. You must convert it into JPEG, JPG, or PNG before uploading. A quick Google search will show you how. For children, be aware that baby faces can change quickly and sometimes cause issues with verification, although this is rare. And of course, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival, so renew it if necessary.

After submitting your documents, you can make the payment and then download your e-VISA. If payment fails, you can get help from Bali LLC. We accept payments via WISE, debit or credit card through PayPal Indonesia, or bank transfer in USD, AUD, GBP, EUR, or NZD. We then create a one-time-use debit card issued by an Indonesian bank, provide the details to you, and complete the payment on your behalf — simply as help for making the payment.

Keep in mind that if your application fails, which is extremely rare, there are no refunds from the Indonesian government or from us if you use our help with payment.

Some travelers wonder if they can just pay on arrival. The answer is yes, but it is not recommended. Processing at the airport takes longer, and after a long flight the last thing you want is to wait in line for paperwork. Preparing your visa in advance is always the safer and easier option.
